RE: campground near Temperance Michigan

Your drive from Maumee Bay State Park would only be about 20 minutes to Temperence, and as Eddie mentions, a very nice park.
Since it looks like you are coming from Michigan, I'd probably opt for Sterling SP.

RE: Cold Weather Camping

Personally I can't imagine there is any chance you can use your water in the UP in January. I hope you are planning to turtle your rig.
Good luck!

Cover for Travelstar 21SSO

Going into my 3rd winter, I have not covered. I'm now thinking it is well worth the investment, plus Camping World has a good sale right now.
Does anyone else cover a 21SSO, and if so can I get away with the Adco cover that goes up to 22' or should I play it safe with the model that is listed as 22'1" to 24'?
Thanks.

RE: 9 Days in Michigan, any suggestions

Lots of recommendations, but would be helpful to know when you are going, and roughly what areas in Michigan you want to go. LP? UP?

RE: Awning Tie Downs

Enjoying camping rather than the extra time to put them on??? It's takes 5 minutes to put them on.
I lost an awning on a very freak gust that came up without warning. I won't camp without tie downs now.

RE: Starcraft Stove cover???

I purchased this for my 21SSO and it fits absolutely perfect. The non-skid surface on the bottom keeps it in place better than I imagined.

RE: A Great Artery Clogging Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

It's up in the Broadway at the Beach area. I've never actually gone there, but see these Brazilian steakhouse-type-places are becoming more popular.

Kirby Grill. I so miss the weekends when the AVP was in town...simply the best time ever in Michigan. (AVP = Association of Volleyball Professionals)

RE: Upper Peninsula Michigan Campgrounds?

This person's opinion is that if you can get by with just electric, Wilderness State Park is the best. Sorry Bon ;-)

RE: Travelstar Front Bed Mattress Storage

We have a 21SSO, and like drenjoey store it on the floor when traveling. I think it would be a very tight fit to leave it in place.

RE: Water Pump Surging

Thanks for the advice on the set screw...I will try that.
I should clarify when I say surging, I don't mean completely on and off. It's more like the pump on full, then somewhat half, then full, etc. The water coming from the faucet follows it...full pressure, lower pressure, full pressure, etc.
Thanks.

RE: Camping in Michigan west side

If you can live with just electric, I'd highly recommend Interlochen State Park. It's a great home base to visit some of my favorite "west side" areas including Traverse City, Leelenau, Glen Arbor, Frankfort, Sleeping Bear area, etc. Note you will have to purchase a Michigan SP sticker in addition to the daily camp fee, and I know some consider this cost prohibitive.

Water Pump Surging

On my Travelstar 21 SSO, when I run a faucet at low pressure, the pump surges low and high. If I turn on two faucets at the same time, it sounds normal. Any ideas?
Thanks.

RE: Faulty 06 Starcraft Tires

I just had 4 of the Towmax tires replaced free of charge, even including mounting! Initially the phone support didn't seem to want to deal with me, and indicated that only wanted to talk to my local Tireman dealer. Once I got them involved, tires were replaced. Great experience!

RE: Securing Cargo

I have to ask...the stroller is actually heavy enough you have to consider where to put it for trailer balance? That seems hard to believe...what is it...10 lbs or so?
As mentioned by someone else, I'd just fold it and bungee somewhere. I prefer to put stuff like that in the back of my tow vehicle/SUV anyway.

RE: Looking for Camping and Golfing in Michigan.

You will want to consider the Gaylord area as well. It would be a great home base for a golf related camping trip.

RE: Cedar Point Ohio & Surrounding Area

Picking a good day at Cedar Point in the middle of summer is a bit of a crap-shoot. I've heard Monday is generally the lightest day. I have friends who swear the best days are on holidays...which always seems hard to believe.
From East Harbor, you might want to consider going to islands like Kelly's or Put N Bay. If you decide on Put N Bay, the Jet Express (ferry) runs out of Port Clinton. Note that Put N Bay is family friendly and beautiful during the day, but at night is a real party area...so I'd advise to heading back around mid to late afternoon.
Enjoy.

We are staying in the Campers Village later this month. A non-pull through site with electric is $64 per night.

RE: Looking for favorite Mi campgrounds.

I only mention these since they haven't been noted yet, but our favorite two spots are Wilderness State Park and Interlochen SP. A hidden gem is PH Hoeft SP.
